Graduated in 1996 or later? Another group is planning a "9606" tent for those class years.

IF YOU GRADUATED from William & Mary between 1985 and 1995, be sure and stop by the fifth annual "8595" hospitality tent at Homecoming 2010!

What a terrific idea! I've always thought what a shame it is that we only have an event every 5 or 10 years!

This is an ingenious, fantastic, much-needed idea!!

The 8595 tent is designed by and for alumni from the target class years, giving it maximum relevancy and traction. It is an unofficial, grassroots effort positioned as a complement to the College's official Homecoming weekend happenings.

Who? 65+ Alumni Hosts from `84-`95, and hundreds of guests

What? 5th Annual 8595 Homecoming Hospitality Tent

Where? Crim Dell Meadow

When? Saturday, October 23rd, 2010
10:30am until approximately 3:30pm

Free registration for William and Mary Homecoming tailgate

The 8595 tent will again be at Crim Dell Meadow, which is just West of the Sunken Gardens. You may remember Crim Dell Meadow for its tall trees and the statues of two college students relaxing on the ground. It was a hit in 2009 and we think it is a perfect location!

The 8595 tent will open at 10:30am on Saturday, October 23rd, 2010, and will close before the end of the game.

There is no charge for admission, food, or beverages at the 8595 tent.

Costs will again be covered by Benefactors and informal contributions.

While the focus of the 8595 effort is on this 11-year span of class years, the 8595 tent is open to all and we expect a good showing of alumni from adjacent and nearby years, especially `84 and `96. Additionally, just as in 2007-2009, this year there will again be a "9606" tent right next to our own, adding to the festivity and helping to draw in more alumni from the youngest part of our own age range.

FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS, dozens of Benefactors from all target class years underwrote the costs of the gathering and spread the word―and hundreds of alumni, friends, and family members stopped by. This year we again expect to have a final host list more than 65 strong, a wider base of financial support, and proportionally more guests.

PLEASE NOTE that 8595 does not officially represent the College, the William and Mary Alumni Association (formerly the Society of the Alumni), or the Tribe Club. However, a donation to the latter secured the space for the 8595 tent and we have provided many links on this site in support of these and other official W & M entities.

We encourage you to peruse the other pages on this site and visit the external links we have provided for more information about the event, the 8595 project, and related topics.
